Ok so here we have nearly 40 year old, just opened, case fresh MEGO Action Jackson's. Standard figures with black hair and beards and Dark or Light Jumpsuits. The one bonus was they are in fact type "0" plastic rivets figures.

Right now we are bundeling these with the 6 case fresh military outfits we had up before, so you get a mint AJ and 6 mint millitary outfits (Army, Navy,Frogman,Aussie Marine, and Ski Patrol) all for $50.We know folks might already have purchased the individual sets, and might not want them again. However, we have a very limited supply of these and we are bundeling first, if we have some left over then we will sell individually.

Yup that's right... after discussing the price with several folks "in the know" for 1/6th scale market, we felt that we might have priced our first foray into 12 inch figure territory a bit high. While sales have been brisk, we are never afraid to take good advice. So what does that mean for you?!

First off if you bought one of these, either the Regular Edition or the Limited Edition pilot you have already been issued a refund for the balance! Yup, it took a while but before we announced this we wanted to take care of those who already "threw down" and as of this morning all orders have been issued the appropriate amount.

SHAZAM! The first Brick Mantooth Customs

One thing that was noted by the customizers at the Mego Museum was the strong resemblance the new Brick Mantooth retro action figure has to 70's Shazam TV show star Jackson Bostwick, who portrayed Captain Marvel.

Thus the first kit-bash customs we are seeing over in the Mego Museum Custom Community are Brick Mantooth dressed as Shazam/Captain Marvel.

This custom is super-easy if you use our special bundled custom package which we call "The Cheese", in honor of the good Captain's nickname (The Big Red Cheese). Thanks for thinking of us James, and it was done as a serious interview.

Now the video itself? I am not sure if it was a bit/frame issue or what but it came out way strange! It makes me laugh every time I watch it! We look like we have some kind of palsy. I am swinging my head around like I am on acid and Jason's eyes keep shifting around like he's waiting on Ninjas to attack any second... Throw in Brue's cameo as 1/2 of the Wonder Twins and it's pretty surreal... I know it wasn't meant to be funny, but that's why it is!

Toynerd's review of the Zica Buck Rogers and Tigerman action figures he picked up at Mego Meet. $50 for both figures was Cast-A-Way Toys' special pricing for Mego Meet, which resulted in a sell out of the Buck Rogers figures we brought with us.

Tigerman sold out quicker than Buck when Mego Meet attendees saw the high quality and incredible detail of the figure in person.

Art Baltazar (better known as Mego Milk on the Mego Museum forums) is the talented co-writer/artist of DC Comics Tiny Titans.

He has attended Mego Meet for the past few years, and during the Friday set-up he was overheard wishing out loud that someone would produce an official Buster Crabbe as Flash Gordon action figure. Word reached Cast-A-Way Toys, and we invited our pal Art to a private viewing of the prototype figure before the official unveiling at the Cast-A-Way presentation the next day.

Art talks about our upcoming Buster Crabbe as Flash Gordon Action Figures on his Aw Yeah podcast, and they also discuss Mego Meet 2011, the annual gathering of Mego Collectors at the Kruger Street Toy Museum in Wheeling West Virginia.

We should also mention that he designed this year's terrific Mego Meet logo, as well as provided delightful canvas paintings to the top three winners in the new kids category of the annual Cast-A-Way Toys sponsored customs contest.

Our plans for our Facebook page is to bring up to the minute news of products and releases from Cast-A-Way Toys, Special Offers and Sales, as well as creating a reference photo archive for fans and collectors of Cast-A-Way Toys.

Given the extremely limited production numbers on many of our products, we realize how hard it might be to keep track of the growing number of past Cast-A-Way Toys creations. Particularly when they sold out so quickly.

2010 NY Comic Con Exclusive Captain Action & Dr Eville sold for $202 on eBay!

Someone just sold a set of Cast-A-Way Toys 2010 NY Comic Con Exclusive Boxed Captain Action & Dr Eville on ebay for $202! These were a limited edition of 50 for those attending the NY Comic Con, where they retailed for $25, and sold out at the event.

The retro style boxes were painstakingly crafted to recreate the look and feel of the old Ideal Photo Boxes of the 1960's. The boxes themselves are manufactured in the old fashioned way as well... paper wrapped chip board, coffin style boxes.

A small number of boxed figures without the NYCC Exclusive sticker were made available on the Cast-A-Ways Toys website to those not attending the NYCC, and also quickly sold out.

In case you have not already heard, The Mego Museum broke the news last weekend that Cast-A-Way Toys is producing an 8" Buster Crabbe as Flash Gordon action figure. Based on the 1936 film serial of the famous scifi newspaper strip character created by Alex Raymond. This was the first photo shown online, posted on the Mego Museum.

Cast-A-Way Toys unveiled the figure during their presentation at Mego Meet 2011, the annual gathering of Mego Collectors and their families at the Kruger Street Toy Museum in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Thanks for all the kind words on the Mego Museum Forum in response to the announcement and picture of the 8" Buster Crabbe as Flash Gordon prototype figure.

On April 19th moulds and tooling owned by Cast-a-Way Toys was offered for sale from unauthorized agents in China and Singapore. Cast-a-Way Toys was miraculously made aware of this attempt by two separate, highly trusted and, successful toy companies here in the United States. When questioned about the attempted sale the management company, whom Cast-a-Way Toys had previously authorized to move their moulds, admitted to this attempted sale. The reasoning was for the recuperation of costs of mould conditioning and cost associated with production. At no time did Cast-a-Way Toys ever refuse to pay for any mould conditioning, and asked only for proof of the conditioning, in both pictures and physical samples. Furthermore, the management company claims loss over production parts completed. Not only did Cast-a-way Toys not request or authorize production, but on two separate occasions both via electronic mail and telephonically explicitly directed that “no product be produce on their behalf”. In addition, in an attempt to remedy this asked for samples of product to discuss its purchase, but was refused. Cast-a-Way Toys has always, and will always honor all of its agreements both contractual and verbal.

The facts are that Cast-a-way Toys is just another victim of the unscrupulous business dealings of this management company, and is now working in conjunction with other victimized American toy companies to bring these criminal activities to light. If you see our products for sale other than at our website (Cast-a-Way On-line Store) please inform us. If your toy company is being offered moulds and tooling for products that we produce, including our 8 inch retro action-figure body and custom accessories, please be informed that these are stolen and no authorized sale has been arranged, and we ask that you contact us immediately.

While these unfortunate events have taken place, Cast-a-Way Toys will continue to bring you the best in 8 inch retro action-figures and new and exciting licensed products. We would also like to thank all of the American Action-figure producers who have been a great resource for us in this time of need, and made it possible for us to continue bring the best in action-figures.

Hey fellow Castaways... Dave here, just thought I'd share a few things from the island this morning.

Superclams (R)- The thing about these is that they are kind of expensive to make (when you have to ship from China) and they are bulky to ship out to customers. We love them as packaging for our completed figures, but we are still having reservations as to whether or not we are going to continue to sell them on the site. I know folks are very passionate about us carrying them, so rest assured we'll give plenty of thought.
Swivel arm sets- We will carry these in the future, we are waiting to hear back from the factory as to just how it will work ie. what else we'll have to make to get these done. But they will be back ASAP
The CARGO HOLD- is a smashing success! and look for a ton more stuff coming soon!
Oily Mattel Figures?- You may have noticed an oily residue on your new 8 inch Matell Retro heroes here's the answer straight from Doc MEGO himself: Our contact at Mattel got the answer.The first batch of figures had paint migration onto the card, so the factory spritzed the heads with silicone based oil that will NOT stain the costumes.If the sprayer had a light touch, the oil evaporated, if the sprayer had alead finger - the excess oil ended up on the blister.It may not look pretty, but it is not toxic, will not cause mutations, or destroy the long term existence of these figures. So you can continue swapping them to our bodies as they will not cause any damage to your Cast-a-way parts... Thanks Doc.

Success has been a hard pill for us to swallow and we learned some hard lessons along the way. As we have stated earlier we have contracted with a 3rd party to handle our shipping, starting with orders placed today (Dec 1st 2009) We have come to an agreement with them that all orders will be shipped within 1 week of the order being placed. In addition the customer will be sent an email with the delivery confirmation number in it to prove the order was shipped within the 7 day time period. All foreign orders will be shipped thru the US post office and a scan of the receipt will be sent to the customer to prove shipping (if this proves to be problematic we'll have to switch to a different shipping service with tracking, which will be more expensive for the customer) Any orders not shipped within this 7 day time frame the customer will receive their money back (no questions asked) and their order shipped free of charge.

This guarantee is that the orders will ship within the 7 day period, not that the customers will recieve their items in 7 days.

Mattel teams up with Doc Mego to bring back 8 inch MEGO-like DC heroes! This is huge for our format. We are excited to see Mattel bringing back some classic and new figures. This is a watershed moment for our format ladies and gentlemen and I am extremely excited (slightly jealous... ah shoot who am I kidding GREEN WITH ENVY!) and want to say Congrats Paul!
